Ahhhh.....Tuesdays. No need to go anywheres.
Sunday I received a belated birthday gift from Amy. It is so cute!!! It is a hanging red heart. It came with a shepherd's hook that I rigged up in the living room. It is now displayed in my living room. I love it!!!

Don't forget all you Lurkers, it's De-Lurking Week. Puuuulleeeese leave a comment just this ONE time. Thank you very much.
It is officially De-Lurking Week.
C'mon you lurkers. I know you are out there. Tell me what you're up to, share your favorite Bible verse with me, or just say 'Hi.' It's safe and very easy to do. Just look below this entry. See where it says 'Leave me some snow'? Click that and it's as easy as pie. I just gotta beat my last 'comment record'. That was set back this summer when I mentioned I wanted a tatoo. Wow! Was THAT a hot button. But, I digress.......leave me some snow!!!
Yep. It's Monday. Doing school. Getting by. Still trying to get the gas smell out of the truck.
I made a full blown turkey dinner on Saturday. Yummy. I love turkey dinner leftovers. I also found a recipe in Reminisce magazine for Stuffing Bread. It's bread that tastes like turkey stuffing. I made that and for lunch today we had turkey sandwiches on Stuffing Bread. The kids loved it!
I am tired of my winter graphics. I think we may look at Raggedy Ann for a bit.
I just received the following email from one of my college roommates, also named Dawn, asking for prayer:
Do you remember my friend, Karen, my next door neighbor from childhood? I can't remember if I told you she had breast cancer. She was diagnosed and started being treated about a year ago. She seemed to be doing okay, but recently they discovered she has a lot of cancer in her bones. Even more, after checking her liver, it appears it is in her liver. So, obviously the prognosis isn't great. She has three little children, the youngest being my little Kaitlyn's age, almost 2. Her oldest is having a really hard time (she's around 7 or 8. She just doesn't understand why her mom is resting all the time and is a little bit more irritable lately.
Please pray not only for healing, but also that Karen and her family would come to know the peace that only comes thru Jesus Christ.
There ended up being a few bright spots in my day yesterday.....
Barb brought me a bag of candy.
I found the beautiful mailing labels Stephanie made for me.
I got to sit and drink a cup of hot mint chocolate coco in front of the woodstove.
My mom sent me a beautiful birthday card.
It snowed and covered up all the mud from our January thaw.
Yesterday ended up being a horrible day. I didn't even get one minute in front of the fire with candles. I worked my behind off, hurt my wrist again, and hit a car in the Sav-a-Lot parking lot. I am so depressed this morning. I don't want to do a single solitary thing today. Nothing. But....I am a wife and a mom. I have no choice.
Yesterday was our day to take Harley to the groomer. Boy, did that dog STINK!!!! When I went to pick him up I had to bring a gas can with cuz the truck was on E and there are no gas stations between here and the groomer. Harley was more hyper than usual when I picked him up. Normally he gets excited but this time he was downright HYPER. I put him in the back with the 5 gallon gas can not thinking there would be an issue since the can was heavy and full and since there was a cap on the end of the nozzle. Yeah, you guessed it....on the way home Harley knocks over the can, the cap pops off, and gas just starts pouring out. I pulled over, put the rest of the gas into the truck tank, had Harley walk off the gas on his paws in some snow and ran home. The smell was overpowering. I grabbed some junk towels and mopped it up the best I could.
I called Scott and he researched the best way to clean it up. One way was to slice potatoes and cover the spill. It's supposed to absorb the gas. That spill would have taken at least 2 five lb bags. Then I remembered that I had a coupon for free carpet shampooing at the Delta Sonic. I loaded up the kids and ran over there. They did the best they could. They even put this odor eliminator stuff on it that works in tandem with an Ozone Machine, which believe it or not we happen to own. Praise God for that cuz they charge $60 to use theirs!!!
I then ran the kids to Awana just in the nick of time. (They ate dinner in the Delta Sonic waiting area.) And I ran to WalMart for necessities. I then ran over to Panera for a quick cup of coffee with Rachel and Tina ~ the first time all school year. (I miss my Panera time with them.) Apparently I just missed seeing one of our local weather guys, Wayne Mahar, who was in enjoying coffee before he headed in to do the news. Then ran to pick up the kids. Headed over to Bosworths to drop off their PS2. Ran to the library to drop off and pick up items. And made it to the drug store 3 minutes before closing to pick up a necessary drug item.
Needless to say I was wiped out when I got home last night. I think I'm gonna stay home, light a bunch of good smelling candles, and sit in front of the fire today.
We have some sun!!! We have not seen the sun here in several weeks. It is so beautiful.
I am on a cleaning and organizing streak these days. I spent some time talking with Bev and Mike over Christmas about some ideas, and the conversation really got me motivated. I was up til after 2 am last night working on the dining room area. When I get in these moods I really need to run with it cuz they don't come very often for me. It was so nice to walk down the stairs this morning into an organized room with no clutter. Now......if we could just get Scott's Harley out of the house.......
Barb and the girls came over for a bit last night. They came bearing gifts for my birthday. Yippee!! Barb put together a beautiful photo collage of our time at the cabin this past summer. I absolutely love it. She also made me a cheesecake. Yummy!! And Allie made me an adorable card. They are such a thoughtful family.
Scott is still sick. Poor guy sounds awful! Natalie has started the cold so I am sure it's gonna run thru the family. O what fun! All the more reason to get as much done as I can before I get it!!!
